Places to Visit in Skardu
- Sadpara lake is a glacial lake surrounded by mountains. The clean and clear water is used for drinking purposes in Skardu city. It is located at an altitude of 2,636 meters above sea level.
- Sheosar lake is located in Deosai National Park, at an altitude of 4,250 meters above sea level. The best time to visit is during the summer.
- Kachura lake is located at an altitude of 2,500 meters, Kachura Lake is surrounded by beautiful scenery and the famous Shangrila Resorts. This place is often referred to as “Heaven on Earth” and is a must-visit when traveling to Skardu.
- Other notable lakes include Kutwal Lake, Katpana Lake, Kharfaq Lake, Rama Lake, and Jarba Zhou Lake.
- Sarfranga is known as the Cold Desert because of its white sand and low temperatures. During summer, temperatures range from 8°C to 24°C, while in winter, they can drop below -25°C.
